Crystal and Marc’s elegant and unique wedding

The Details

How did you and your partner meet?
Initially at a lawn bowls afternoon in Sydney and then a year later at a friend’s birthday in Melbourne.

How did he propose?

He took me out to dinner to Atlantic in Southbank and proposed there. He proposed with just the diamond without a setting which I loved as it allowed me to get a little creative! Jenny from Top Image Jewelry helped me with the setting and I get compliments on her work ALL the time.

What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship?

Laugh always!!! Life can get challenging and it’s so important to take a step back and not take life all too seriously.

How did you choose your wedding gown?

I had actually already bought a dress and then met Catherine in passing and asked her to alter it for me. When I went to meet her and saw all her amazing gowns I knew she had to make me a custom dress. We discussed what I liked and what I wanted in a dress, and she created magic! I wanted something quite different but still something suitable for a really hot day.

What sort of style did you envision for your wedding day?

Relaxed, elegant and minimalist.

What was your favorite moment from the day?

To be honest I just LOVED all of it but my favourite moment would have to be the electrical feeling in the room at the reception. Having all our most favourite humans in one room having the best time celebrating…you just can’t beat it.

Any DIY décor elements?

No to be honest. We were so time poor that we really did have to outsource everything.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change?

Make it last longer!!!!

Any tips that you can give to future brides?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. We intentionally made sure that we had a really laid back approach to the whole wedding and lived in the moment. I truly believe that is what created an absolutely perfect day for us and all our guests.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I ensured my skin was prepped for the day by having regular treatments with the ladies at Clinica-Lase. These included chemical peels, laser genesis, LED light therapy and some oxygen facials closer to the day. I would recommend all brides to invest in their skin prior to the big day so a much more natural makeup finish can be achieved.
