I was in the middle of giving birth when I received an pressing message from an acquaintance who asked me to be her wedding photographer. A few months later as soon as I recovered from the delivery, I accepted her offer, because I was super excited to shoot their wedding day. A stunning couple, an adorable little boy, they had everything to catch my fancy. The couple had been postponing their wedding plans for a while and everything took shape in a mere three months. They realized their dream: a tent at their parent’s home, the arch of a swing transformed into a nuptial arch, and simple homemade decorations. In this rural setting, the bride appears. She adorns a subtly fitting gown, smiling lips and tearing eyes. Photos of the couple, followed by group shots and the civil ceremony. Then we proceed to the City Clerk’s office with the ceremony led by the six sisters of the couple. Finally, comes the moment that convinced me about Julie being the most perfect bride: she asked me if it would be possible to make a detour, taking a half hour from the cocktail reception, in order to visit her grandmother’s retirement home so that she could be seen with her adorable dress, and the bouquet. After this moment of emotion, we returned to the wedding. It was dusk and the evening celebration was only starting under the
family tent.
