1. Have a good breakfast

A good breakfast is the best way to start a wedding day. A healthy and competently prepared breakfast will kick start you to an enjoyable day. A good start to the day will set you on the right track.

2. Relax

So do yourself a favor and stop planning. Relax. If you got this far then your wedding will happen no matter anything. Your wedding day is supposed to be the most important day of your life. But preparing for it, and thinking about it, is the opposite of relaxing. Your wedding suppliers will be there for you to make it all work and if something doesn’t work then who cares, you don’t! You get to marry your other half and everything else is a bonus.

3. Turn off your phone

Though it’s impossible to be everywhere at once, most of the time, the simple act of turning off your phone will make you less stressed. Sometimes the best way to de-stress is to simply turn off your phone and go enjoy some time doing something completely different, like getting married.

You’ve worked so hard and got this far that you can give yourself a break. Enjoy the day without the buzzing phone.

4.Don’t sweat the small stuff

A lot of couples get so anxious about what their wedding is going to look and sound and feel like that they rehearse (or imagine rehearsing) every step of the ceremony. They rehearse the vows; they rehearse the toasts; they even rehearse the small things like how to walk down the aisle.

Rehearsals are a bad idea. Why? Because even if everything goes perfectly, you won’t remember. You will remember your friends and family, the vows, the toasts, the food, the music, but you won’t remember what you did. You will remember the big moments, the highlights, and the minor details will fade.

So don’t worry about the details. It’s hard, but it’s more important that you have a good time.

5. Do things your way

There are tons of traditions to follow, but it’s your day, do things your way. You can do anything you want and your guests and your suppliers are there for you. If you’re not comfortable with something, skip it. Don’t give a speech if you don’t like public seeking or don’t have a cake if you don’t like them. Do it your way.

6. Eat (healthy)

Make sure you eat and eat healthy if possible. It’s going to be a busy day with all your guests demanding your attention. Don’t forget to stop and eat and drink (something non alcoholic too).

7. Don’t forget to go slow and enjoy your wedding day

Don’t get so wrapped up in the big day that you don’t remember what made it special. Perhaps the best thing you can do on your wedding day is take a little time for yourself.

After all, after all the planning and anticipation, a wedding is just a party. And parties are fun.
